FIRST WEEK OF FREEDOM: Life Since Moore

This is me a week ago, the eve of my last day working at Moore College of Art & Design after 8 years as an Admissions staff member. I've been planning for this departure for 2 years, nonetheless I was still on a roller coaster ride of emotions: elation, fear, anxiety, worry, excitement and back up and down again. I'm happy to report that after about one week of freedom (last Thursday was my last day) and approximately seven pep talks from my lovely husband, I'm feeling very positive and pleased with my new life as a full-time Etsy vintage shop owner. Here's my week in Instagram pictures, how I document my life. If you're not a follower already, my username is: mousetrapvtg.

{celebratory cocktail with Hendricks of course}

{celebratory dinner, BBQ ribs from the farmer's market & salad}

{delicious vegan peanut butter cookies in the making}

{delicious vegan peanut butter cookies ready for the oven}

{kitty cuddles with Louis T. Kat, or Louis T. K. as we call her}

{first official appearance of soon-to-be-released Khaki Scout City Mice!}

{first tasting of Chapter House's sparkling tea beverages, chamolemon mmm}

{a 40s camp photo I purchased at my first auction experience}

{first pedicure of the season with my girls, Beth (my SquidWhale partner) & Christiana}

{shipped out a second wholesale order of SquidWhale zip pouches to School of Vintage

{worked on cleaning & organizing my studio (update: it's still a mess)}

{took photos for my first proper shop update since early July, a collection inspired by the waning of summer}

{crunching on an apple from my preview photo mid-shoot :) }

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for lots more vintage!

    1. Thanks, Amanda! I know you've been at this as long as I can and doing swell! My advice to you is to take a chance. Not to be cliche, but you only live once! Good luck to you and thanks for being such a wonderful, supportive internet bud. :)

  2. best of luck! becoming full time is probably the hardest thing I have ever done,
    hardest but really maybe the coolest too...it's so challenging in so many ways I
    never imagined but all that is good for us I reckon! cheers!

    1. You're SO right! I basically signed up to work every day of my life for the rest of my life. Good thing is, we love what we do! Thanks for inspiring me to take the leap, lady! <3

  3. I knew when I first met you a couple of moons ago you had something special to offer us. The gift of realizing all things have meaning and can bring a smile to a strangers face. Your sense of style, wonder and excitement for the bizarre trinkets in the world enlightens my days. I am proud to know you are out there combing the nooks and crannies and finding new homes for those who love what you love. And, on top of all that you are a super human being with warmth and kindness written all over your heart!
