I'm officially back now with regular Monday shop updates, the first of which is inspired by a MUCH-ANTICIPATE film release. As you may know, Wes Anderson's latest film, Moonrise Kingdom, comes to theaters this week in major US cities, which may or may not include Philadelphia ... *sigh*.
Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness.
Today I added 14 new items to the shop, 9 of which are seen below, channeling the themes and aesthetic of what is soon to become my favorite film of all time.
{clockwise from top right: 70s striped sweater "tee"; handmade "lake sunset" zip pouch; 40s children's book}
{clockwise from right: 60s BSA yucca pack & frame; "eagle striking it's prey" oil painting; BSA book collection}
{clockwise from top right: "America's Wonderlands" book; 80s ankle boots; antique "wood study"}
Wherever you are, I hope you're able to start your summer right with Moonrise Kingdom!
xoxo

ReplyDeleteThanks, Abigail! Most of what I bought in Brimfield was stuff for SquidWhale. Doing a small shop update tonight for SquidWhale and more this week ... EEE!
ReplyDeleteBrilliannntt! I am so excited for this movie. You captured the feel of it (from what I saw in the previews) just perfectly.

ReplyDeleteIt's Robert. We met at Uhuru/Clark park market. We discussed a folk piece you bought that day. I didn't have a peice you wanted that day. I found my folk art piece and would like to know if you would be interested in swapping. If not where you able to find out anything more on the piece or artist?
I believe I gave you my email.
Thanx
