The Evolution of the Donkey: One Year on Etsy

My Etsy baby, Humpastuff Vintage and Erotic Plush, is turning ONE!

My first year wrap up...

Vintage sales have been steady and the feedback has been very encouraging. I love modeling the clothes, researching labels, AND the Etsy community.

Special shout out to my twin sister, Sarah @ Mouse Trap Vintage! We haven't been closer in all our lives!! Etsy has become a forum for us to meet and discuss although we're hours apart. Virtual HUG!!!

Humpastuff Plush, Yes She CanCan, has over 10,000 views.  That's a lot of peeping toms, click here, and you can see her too. That's an incredible amount of attention! It's like having 10,000 people window shop my gallery!!

Yet not a single plush sale.

That tells me that my sexy pillows are wicked hot but not the kind you take home to your mother.

Humpastuff Plush needs to evolve!!

Erotic plush goes HD!

The Evolution of the Donkey

I found this little book at my local thrift store.
Adventures in Toy Making! <----great title!!
It turned out to be a big help with breathing a little life into Donkey Kong.

Donkey Kong is becoming a tight assed little plush.

The Evolution of Bunny and Clyde

My original sketch.

Bunny and Clyde. Flat and personality-less.

Bunny and Clyde caught acting like rabbits and now truly deserving the honor of being the mascot of Humpastuff.

Humpastuff Erotic Plush have been reborn!

Black Forest creatures

I found this incredible oversized German calendar from 1967 (though seems much earlier) at a DE Estate Sale with my buddy Jessica a few weeks back. I was planning on selling the pages separately as wall art, but I couldn't bear to tear it apart. Here's a sneak preview ...

It's coming to the shop this weekend, along with a whole lot of other good stuff I was hoarding in my studio ... a collection of Adirondack frames, wild game cookbook, 1930s bakelite and wood necklace, set of 1940s Pennsylvania Dutch design patterns, 1950s camp stool ... the list goes on and on ...

Farewell, Klaus! Au revoir, Charlie!

I have been working on a custom mouse job for a lovely return customer for a few months now and I wanted to share the finished mice with you all.
The buyer and lovely return customer, Alanna, and her fiance I are big mouse lovers and have a brown female mouse with a white stripe named Charlie and had a black and white male mouse, Klaus, up until last year (*sniff* Poor Charlie!). They're both so adorable, I can hardly stand it! AND, Klaus has a heart-shaped spot to boot! Eeee!

Alanna is getting married soon and ordered two custom mice from the shop to use as wedding cake toppers. What a brilliant idea!!! The stuffed versions of Charlie and Klaus are exactly 50% larger than my regular City and Country Mouse Pins and, therefore, a little bit more detailed...

Meet the Mouse Trap Vintage version of "Charlie"!

Meet the Mouse Trap Vintage version of "Klaus"!

I can't wait to see them both nestled atop Alanna's wedding cake! Congrats to Alanna and her fiance! I'm so happy to have been a part of their special day!
