After a very long hiatus, I am returning to the blog. Since I last wrote here I was wed, I honeymooned and have been nursing our very sick cat, Louis, back to health. I had lots of plans to share wedding and honeymoon photos right away, but Mags beat me to the punch. In addition I'm waiting until we get our wonderful photographer Chelsea's photos to do an official hobo wedding blog post. For all those reasons, I decided to just get back to it with a good ol' fashioned shop preview.
Last weekend I visited one of my favorite flea markets in Columbus, NJ with Jessica of La Bestia (my friend and favorite shopping buddy who has, BTW, the best taste in the world and a head full vintage knowledge). There I purchased this real treasure of a chest:
Inside this unassuming box is a bounty of other treasures from the Columbus Farmer's Market Fleas: An 80s does 30s floral print maxi dress, a worn metal tray with turquoise and rust colored paint, a leather visor with tooled stars, a leather corset belt, a tiny little suede purse with rabbit fur trim and tassel, a pair of woven leather oxford flats, a shortie corn cob pipe, an antique English porcelain ashtray with gorgeous chrysanthemum blooms, a set of choo choo train cookie cutters and a wood produce box from the 1910s or 20s.
I'm photographing these items and some other recent finds for the shop this afternoon and they'll all be there for sale this holiday weekend.
Stay tuned, friends! I'll also be sharing some of my favorite honeymoon photos this week, along with some of the heirloom-quality wedding gifts Brian and I received. See you soon and thanks for reading!
